Falling For Bad Girls
Falling For Bad Girls (Chimaera Records, 2004) is the second full length album by the Los Angeles based SuperFunk Group, Jacaranda. After releasing their first full length album in 2001, Jacaranda spent many months crafting and refining their music before returning to the studio. This time they chose a studio that was prepared to help them expose themselves adequately and they have emerged with a sound all their own. Releasing many numerous mini-albums both before their first album, Treehouse of Funk (2001) and before their latest full length, Falling For Bad Girls, Jacaranda was able to fine tune thier peices and get a good feel for how thier songs transverse recording to musical artistry and, for lack of a better term, magic.
Inspired by this effort, Chimaera Records, in collaboration with the Los Angeles-based band Jacaranda, has produced a fitting soundtrack, replete with calls to vote, musical parodies and educated rants by the creators of the comic book. It is an album to be loved by every freedom-loving fan of true democracy and a great addendum to a powerful comic book.
